ABOUT THIS SITE

This site is named after a traffic sign that I spotted during a birdwatching trip in Arizona back in 1998 (picture). The combination of my name (S. Plat) and my greatest hobby: birdwatching, made me think that this sign was designed specially for me!

I'm still not sure what this sign warns you for, I guess it has to do with bird droppings, but it proofs appropriate as indication of a specific region claimed by me, whether physically somewhere on earth or here in cyberspace.

My name is Simon Plat. I'm from the Netherlands. In daily life I'm a consultant in GIS systems. My main hobbies are bird watching and traveling. Fortunately there's a pretty good combination: birding in far away countries. That’s what this site is about.
With this site I hope to provide future bird watch travelers with relevant information and experiences from my visits.
This site will start with trip reports from my own recent trips but I would like to invite everyone who made an extensive birding trip report to contact me if you don’t have means to publish it on the internet.
